Great BBC Three Doc. I Believe in Ghosts - Joe Swash (videos)

This show aired on BBC Three in May 2010, I happened to catch on late night TV in the US last year, and I must say it is an honest documentary on a skeptical person wanting to find out what is out there. It's cleverly done and the soundtrack is actually amazing. Check it out. Enjoy.

Description: EastEnders actor Joe Swash turns ghostbuster and sets out in search of tangible proof that ghosts exist. He meets Britain's youngest professional psychic, who claims he has a hotline to the spirit world, sleeps in a haunted bedroom to lure an amorous spirit and stakes out a terrace house in Hartlepool where the family say they're sharing their home with at least four ghostly inhabitants. But it's a night alone in the Edinburgh vaults that makes Joe convinced he really believes in ghosts.

The Legend of Annie Palmer: The White Witch of Jamaica

By Connie Motz. It was a hot humid afternoon on a lazy Jamaican day. I had arrived by cruise ship at Montego Bay earlier that morning.

When faced with an abundance of choices for shore excursions, I decided to go with one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jamaica, the famous Rose Hall.

Located high on the hillside in lush St. James, Jamaica, Rose Hall is a dramatic looking three- storey white washed Great House.

Dating from the late 1700s, this statuesque plantation home ominously stands atop the hillside overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Sea.

Rose Hall was nicknamed the ‘calendar house’ because it originally had 365 windows, 52 doors and 12 bedrooms.
The Legend Begins
I eagerly awaited our visit to the mysterious plantation (originally 6,600 acres in size) hoping the catch a glimpse of the famous Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Jamaica, who lived, or should I say ‘ruled’ the plantation and its inhabitants.

Annie was said to be a short woman, not even five feet tall, but was said to have been exceedingly beautiful. In 1820, at the tender age of 17, Annie became the wife of John Palmer and this is where the legend began.

Old Hag Syndrome: A Look at Sleep Paralysis (video)

By Bryce Baker

Many people have suffered from Sleep Paralysis at some point in their life and never realize there is a name for it. Others suffer from Sleep Paralysis regularly and research it, struggling to find a cause of Sleep Paralysis.

For those who dont know, Sleep Paralysis is the inability to move voluntarily that some people experience either right before going to sleep or directly after waking up.

There are two types of Sleep Paralysis,Common Sleep Paralysis CSP, and Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis (HSP). The major difference between the two types of Sleep Paralysis is that Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis is accompanied by frightening hallucinations, feelings of intense fear, and the strong feeling of an evil presence. Almost all cases of Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis occur when victims are sleeping on their backs.

Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis has been documented all through human history and almost every culture has its own legends behind it. Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis is often called Old Hag Syndrome, due to the common accounts of seeing or sensing the presence of an Old Hag often putting pressure on the chest or choking the victims.

Some accounts of Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis describe a small gremlin or demonic being sitting on the chest. There are still quite a few incidents of Hallucinatory Sleep Paralysis that report a black cat on top of the victim stealing their breath, this may be the source of many of the superstitious beliefs in some countries that cause people to be afraid of cats and keep them away from their houses.

Fossilized spines and vertebrae found on Mars (video)

A video making the rounds on the web has alien hunters and Mars watchers excited with what looks remarkably like a fossilized skeleton of a lizard-like creature photographed by the Mars Curiosity rover.

What is it?

Paranormal bulletin boards are on fire with still images, enhanced and enlarged, which do bear a striking resemblance to fossils of ancient creatures found on Earth.

The video, uploaded to YouTube on Feb. 19, is a vignette made from a single photo taken by Curiosity earlier in the month. The photo seems to show the outline of animal vertebrae snaking into what looks like a tail and exposed above the rocky Martian soil.

Of course, if it can be proved that the skeletal remains are from an ancient creature, it would be definitive proof that life on Mars was, and possibly still is, a reality.

The Legend of the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall is probably the most famous and most widely used reported ghost photo there is.

According to legend, the "Brown Lady of Raynham Hall" is the ghost of Lady Dorothy Walpole (1686-1726) and is so named because of the brown brocade dress it is claimed she wears.

It is said that Lady Townsend's husband, Charles Townsend, suspected his wife of being unfaithful and even though she is listed as having been buried in 1725 many people think that her death and funeral were faked. Instead, Lady Townsend was locked away in a remote part of the house until she passed away in 1726 from smallpox never allowing her to even see her children. Ever since then she is thought to be haunting Raynham Hall.

Raynham Hall is a country house in Norfolk, England. For nearly 400 years it has been the seat of the Townsend family.

Pay close attention to the timing of the events to see if this is planned by the ghost, just a coincidence or deliberately planned?

The first recorded sighting of the ghost was made at a gathering at Raynham Hall at Christmas in 1835.

The next sighting of the "Brown Lady" was made in 1836 by Captain Frederick Marryat a friend of novelist Charles Dickens.

UFO Sighting in Grants Pass, Oregon (video)

The cosmic events on Friday where a meteor streaked across Russia's sky -- made for some international headlines.

But two Grants Pass residents say they also saw something in the sky that night.

They claim it wasn't an asteroid or meteorite but an unidentified flying object.

And they caught it all on camera!

It's hard to make out much of anything in the original video. But after NBC 5 added a special filter to make the light more visible you can clearly see something was in the sky over Grants Pass Friday night.

"At first I was like what's wrong with that star? I thought, whoa, that's kind of trippy. So I went to get him and he's like whoa! What is that? And it started moving, said Heather Scherffius.

Scherffius and Gregory Soldner say they just happened to look outside around 10:30 at night and say they've never seen anything quite like this.

Bigfoot sighting near Neches river in Texas (video)

PORT NECHES — Chill bumps rise on David Arceneaux’s arms as he looked across Block Bayou at a line of trees about 100 yards away.

“I’m not crazy. I don’t do drugs and I’m not a drinker,” Arceneaux said before telling his tale of seeing not one but two Bigfoot-like creatures huddled together one December morning.

The Nederland native visits Oak Bluff Cemetery about once a month to clean the graves of a friend and a cousin, something he has done for years without incident. But on an overcast, windless day Arceneaux got the fright of his life.

“I heard a blood curdling scream and a lady nearby asked me if I was OK. I told her it wasn’t me,” Arceneaux said as he stood, uneasily, at roughly the same spot where he saw the creatures. “We walked over to the water and looked to the left then straight ahead.”

What he saw next amazed him. Two Bigfoot-like creatures who had been throwing rocks in the water looked across at him and the unknown female. One was standing next to a tree, arms around the trunk and the other was squatted down. As the second creature rose from the crouching position Arceneaux estimated the creature was about eight-foot tall. So he snapped a photo with his phone, he said.

Why did the Iowa "Haunted House" cross the road ? (video)

MONROE, Iowa —The slow-mover headed through Jasper County Tuesday morning had heads turning. And the load the big rig was hauling contained more stories than people saw at first glance.

It takes dozens of axles to move 100 tons, but this move was about more than just logistics. The five-mile move involved a home built in the 1800s.

“It was built in 1865. It's the oldest wood frame historical house in Jasper County,” said Billy Bell, who was working on the move.

The place known as Maple Grove Hill has a century-old reputation as a haunted house.

KCCI 8 News spent a night in the home back in 1994.

“It's real. People think it's a lot of poppycock, but it's enough to make your skin crawl,” said Mike Salier in 1994.

Back then, the mystery was unexplainable.

But 20 years later, some people wondered what would happen when Maple Grove Hill took the road trip.

The property the house has stood on for more than a century was sold to one family and the house was sold to another.

Would the ghosts move with the house, or stay with the property?

London community center claims to capture ghost on CCTV (video)

Spooky CCTV footage showing a ghostly figure leaving a community centre in north-west London is creating a stir online.

The video shows a slim man suddenly appear outside the entrance of South Ruislip Community Association and Community Centre on February 1.

It captures the transparent figure walking calmly towards a metal railing before seemingly disappearing into thin air.

The strange moment was reportedly witnessed by the centre’s caretaker who went outside to investigate.

‘I was sitting inside the hall and noticed a figure on the front CCTV camera,’ the caretaker is quoted as saying in the video.

‘I looked up at the screen and thought I saw a person but wasn’t sure so went out to check.’

He added: ‘I went outside and no one was there but I thought they might have quickly walked around the side of the building into the park so I just went back in.

‘After downloading the CCTV footage I was surprised to see that the figure had been recorded onto the system.

Spontaneous Combustion may be the cause of Oklahoma death (video)

The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office has ruled out homicide in the death of a Muldrow man, but has not ruled out spontaneous human combustion following the state medical examiner’s findings a day later.

Preliminary autopsy results were released to authorities Tuesday (Feb. 19) on the 65-year-old man the sheriff believes may have died from spontaneous human combustion.

Preliminary autopsy results stated Danny Vanzandt died of heat and smoke inhalation, sustaining burns to his trachea, as if he had been ingesting fire, Sheriff Ron Lockhart said.

The medical examiner’s report shows the victim may have burned for 10 hours, Lockhart said.

Vanzandt’s body was sent Monday to the state medical examiner’s office in Tulsa for an autopsy after emergency crews responded to Vanzandt’s home on Bawcon Road on Monday morning.

Fire crews on the scene discovered a badly burned man dead in the kitchen. Lockhart said the signs pointed to spontaneous human combustion as the cause of death, since no nearby items or furniture around the body were burned. There was no other fire damage to the house and no signs of a struggle, Lockhart said.

Haunted mirror sells for £100 on Ebay

A so-called 'haunted' mirror has sold for £100 on eBay.

Student Joseph Birch, 20, and painter Sotiris Charalambous, 34, claimed that "strange phenomena" had occurred since they purchased the mirror, and decided to put it up for sale.

"This is a beautiful grand Victorian style mirror and has had pride of place in our North London studio apartment for several months now," reads the description of the item.

The London couple added: "However, I feel it's only fair that I tell anybody with an interest in buying it about the strange phenomena that has occurred since we acquired it.

"Many times since putting up the mirror, both myself and my flat mate have woken in the early morning hours screaming in pain.

"The mood in the flat turned sour. I felt constantly as if there was a sense of impending doom upon us... Both of us began to feel zombie like, as if drained of all our energy."

'That's no meteor, it's an American weapon test': Russian politician's bizarre claim

Rant: Vladimir Zhirinovsky said what really happened was an act of provocation by the U.S.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky
A Russian politician has claimed the meteor which struck the country yesterday was actually a clandestine American weapons test while claims have emerged that a sonic boom was also felt in Cuba.

Authorities say a 10 ton space rock, traveling at a speed of 33,000mph, hit the Earth's atmosphere with a force equivalent to 30 of the atomic bombs which destroyed the city of Hiroshima.

The astonishing event on Friday morning blew out windows in more than 4,000 buildings and injured some 1,200 people, largely with cuts from the flying glass.

But in a twist that reads like a piece of Soviet-era propaganda, firebrand politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky said what really happened was an act of provocation by the U.S.
Zhirinovsky, leader of the far-right Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), said:

'Those aren't meteorites falling. It's the Americans trying out a new weapon'.

He backed up his astonishing claim arguing that newly appointed U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had been trying to reach Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov all day, 'to warn him that there would be such a provocation, and it might affect Russia'.

The haunted town hall in New Hampshire

EPPING -- It seems to happen when it's dead quiet.

The sound of footsteps crossing the creaky wooden floors. Doors opening and closing. A person whispering. Objects being tossed into the air.

"I hear things all the time. I expect it now," said Town Administrator Gregory Dodge, who wonders if the Epping Town Hall is haunted.

And he's not the only one.

A pen once flew out of nowhere and landed on the desk of town clerk administrative assistant Michele Murphy. She thought a co-worker had thrown it at her, but she hadn't.

"There was nobody there," she said.

Police Detective Marc Turner and other officers often heard footsteps late at night when the police department was located in the town hall's basement, until it moved in 2001.

"You could hear the footsteps. You'd go up there and search the building and nothing. That happened on many occasions," Turner said.

After so many strange occurrences experienced at the town hall over the years, officials say it may be time to let a professional ghost hunter in to confirm what many already believe.

"There are strange happenings there and selectmen feel that perhaps it's time to find out just how strange the happenings are," said Selectman Karen Falcone, board chairman.

Falcone has also heard the footsteps and doors opening and closing when no one's around.

Alien-like creature pulled from New Jersey area waters

Forget all this chatter about exploding meteors and some asteroid making a dauntingly close pass to earth: There are aliens among us! Or so some might think after inspecting the image of a bizarre-looking denizen pulled from the waters of New Jersey.

The photo, containing no information other than the New Jersey reference, has gone viral on Reddit, garnering nearly 400,000 views in the first six hours after being posted on Friday.

Apparently, the creature, whose days of terrorizing other creatures are over thanks to the sharp point of a spear, is a very large sea lamprey.

Sea lampreys only measure to about three feet, so the specimen in this image must appear gigantic because of the camera angle.

A spokeswoman for New York's Department of Environmental Conservation, when asked for a positive ID, stated via email: "The photo doesn't allow counting of gill openings (seven per side for sea lamprey), but based on size alone, this does appear to be a sea lamprey."

"It sucks the life out of fish," reads one of hundreds of comments.

Syfy's "Ghost Mine" star says all Syfy paranormal shows are 100% entertainment.

Ghost Mine's Patrick Doyle and Kristen Luman
By: , Bangor Pop Culture Examiner
An anonymous email from a reader on February 13, tipped me off that Kristen Luman, paranormal investigator on SyFy’s newest paranormal reality show “Ghost Mine”, might have something she is trying to hide, but it didn’t stop there. It seems that her partner, Patrick Doyle may have a few things he’d rather not surface either.

According to multiple references, including his own references to his “Haunted Hoax” series during an interview with Sci-Fi Paranormal Radio, Patrick Doyle has a long history with the paranormal, but not as a traditional ghost hunter. Patrick, it seems, is known for his skepticism of claims made by others, including “Ghost Hunters”.

It may come as no surprise to readers that his site no longer exists and that all Haunted Hoax videos on YouTube have been removed. His blog has also been removed, but the information is still accessible in a cached version and features a lengthy post titled “Are you addicted to ghosts?”

The post, dated April 11, 2011 begins with: “My name is Patrick Doyle and I'm an addict. For a third or my life I have researched and investigated paranormal claims.”

Zombie apocalypse takes center stage in Canadian Parliament (2 videos)

The Canadian Parliament tackled the critical issue of an impending zombie invasion from America a day after a hoaxer hacked into a Montana television broadcast (below) to warn that the dead were rising from their graves.

In a speech that had his fellow members of Parliament laughing in the aisles, Winnipeg MP Pat Martin warned that, if zombies were popping up in America, Canadians needed to take proper measures to prepare.

"I rise today to salute the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta and the province of Quebec for putting in emergency measures to deal with the possibility of an invasion of zombies," Martin said on the Parliament floor. "I don’t need to tell you, Mr. Speaker, that zombies don’t don’t recognize borders and that a zombie invasion in the United States can easily turn into a continent-wide pandemic if it’s not contained.

City gives away £375,000 manor 'because it is haunted'

Wymering Manor in Portsmouth, Hants, is said to be haunted by a choir of nuns who scuttle across hallways as well as a host of unseen hands which reach out and touch passers by.

The property, thought to be the oldest house in Portsmouth having been mentioned in the 1086 Doomsday book, was placed on sale at an auction with a reserve price of £375,000 last year but failed to sell.

Portsmouth City Council have now donated the Grade II listed building to the Wymering Manor Trust along with a £30,000 grant for repair work.

The group will attempt to restore the house to its former glory, estimated at a total cost of more than £500,000, before opening it as a tourist attraction.

The spirits of whispering children and Sir Roderick of Porchester, who was murdered outside the manor in the middle ages, are said to be among the ghosts haunting the property.

Ghost-hunters have reported the sudden drops in temperature and other strange apparitions that go on inside the building.

It's Raining Spiders in Brazil,... YIKES !! (video)

I don't know about you guys but spiders freak me out, and I ever saw this it would probably give me a heart attack.

They do say that it is bad luck to kill a spider, but I say "SCREW THAT, HAND ME THE FLAMETHROWER !!!

Hundreds, or maybe thousands, of spiders between two poles in the town of Santa Antonio de Plantina in Parana, Brazil. We don’t know why they’re acting like this, we’re trying to find out and will post if anyone gets back to us with an answer.

It’s hard to get a still shot that does video justice. It looks like the spiders have the house surrounded. The guy filming it just keeps saying, “it’s raining spiders!”

This is pure horror movie material. None of these still images does the video justice, you have to watch. Keep in mind that each image is only a small area compared to the total.

"Witch" burned alive in New Guinea

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (AP) — A mob stripped, tortured and bound a woman accused of witchcraft, then burned her alive in front of hundreds of witnesses in a Papua New Guinea town, police said Friday after one of the highest profile sorcery-related murders in this South Pacific island nation.

Hundreds of bystanders, including many children, watched and some took photographs of Wednesday’s brutal slaying. Grisly pictures were published on the front pages of the country’s biggest circulating newspapers, The National and Post-Courier, while the prime minister, police and diplomats condemned the killing.

In rural Papua New Guinea, witchcraft is often blamed for unexplained misfortunes. Sorcery has traditionally been countered by sorcery, but responses to sorcery allegations have become increasingly violent in recent years.

The death was the first sorcery-related murder in Papua New Guinea in a year, national police spokesman Dominic Kakas said.

Kepari Leniata, a 20-year-old mother, had been accused of sorcery by relatives of a 6-year-old boy who died in the hospital the day before.

Haunted Ohio law office was once a funeral home. (news video)

HAMILTON, Ohio —A paranormal investigation is under way at a Hamilton law firm, which once served as a funeral home and now might be haunted.

When attorneys with McKenzie and Snyder moved in to the Dayton Street building, which sits next door to a former convent, they said weird things began happening as they renovated the space. "Little things happen, phones would call each other," said Kristen McKenzie, office manager. "Lights would go out in our computer room, the front door would open by itself."

The Tri-Ops Paranormal Society conducted an investigation over the weekend, and they said they know why employees were spooked.

"I've been doing this for a long time and never seen a K2 meter go up that high," one investigator said on a video made by the group.

Members said their divining rods kept aiming in the same direction, and the paranormal investigators said they made contact with the spirit of a young girl.

Pub owner says ghost threw his phone (video)

A SPOOKED pub boss reckons he caught the ghost of the dead landlord on CCTV hurling his mobile phone across the bar.

Manager Ajay Cohan, 30, captured the incident at the New Talbot, in West Bromwich, West Mids, when he checked the security tapes to see what happened to his iPhone.

Ajay was baffled when his mobile phone vanished from inside the main room of the 100-year-old boozer while he was cleaning it in the early hours of the morning.

But when he checked CCTV cameras footage showed his mobile mysteriously disappearing from a chair at 2.30am.
Locals say the chair was the favourite seat of former landlord Gary Stephens — who died in 1993 of a heart attack.

Ajay found his phone on the floor the following morning over the other side of the pub and believes the strange incident could be the work of Mr Stephens’ poltergeist.

The latest occurrence is just one in a series of unexplained goings-on at his pub in recent weeks.

Russian divers find mysterious jaws and skeleton in Siberia's Loch Ness.

Russian geologists say they have found remains of a large animal at the bottom of Lake Labynkyr, home of the legendary "Siberian Loch Ness monster," east of Moscow. The report has led to the suggestion that remains of the monster may have been found.

According to the Voice of Russia, a statement by the Russian Geographical Society (RGO) said the scientific expedition has made the first plunge in the waters of Yakutia's Lake Labynkyr. The head of the RGO underwater research team Dmitry Shiller, went down to the bottom of one of the world's coldest lakes in the remote Yakutia region of Russia's Siberia, reportedly the first time a man has reached the bottom of the lake.
The Daily Mail reports that Shiller led the Russian Geographical Society mission to the lake that averages 170ft in depth and has an underwater crevice reaching down to 262ft. According to the Siberian Times, Lake Labynkyr is located 5000 kilometers east of Moscow, 60 kilometers away from the town of Oymyakon, "the coldest place on earth." The divers went down under temperatures of about minus 42 degree Celsius.

Katy Perry saw a ghost and didn't like it.

At a chi-chi French Chateau mansion in Beverly Hills, filming on a commercial for KATY PERRY’s new oo-la-la French fragrance suddenly came to a screeching halt when the elegantly-gowned superstar burst from the master suite, screaming: “A man in the mirror!...Staring at me!...A GHOST!!”

As producers rushed to help panicked Katy, security guards raced to the second floor of the swanky mansion – once owned by an eccentric Saudi Arabian who threw lavish parties there until he died and his heirs put it on the market for a staggering 68 million buck$$.

Said a SpyWitness: “Shivering and terrified, Katy told producers that while she was alone in the master suite, she turned to the mirror – and froze when she saw a man sporting a mustache staring back at her, his face contorted in agony.

"Katy raced from the room and down the enormous staircase, screaming at the top of her lungs! Everyone kept trying to calm her down, until security came downstairs and told producers they’d found nothing!”

Everyone kept suggesting that what she’d seen was probably just a reflection – but the more they tried to brush it off, the more upset Katy became.

Mysterious balls found in Arizona desert (video)

TUCSON (KGUN-9) - It was a normal Sunday in Vail for Geradine Vargas. Normal, until she and her husband stumbled upon something kind of weird.

"We were taking photos around the area and we just.... I mean, how could you miss this?" Geradine said. "It was just like glittering in the sun."

Thousands of tiny, purple-hued spheres piled in the middle of nowhere.

"It's just one of those things that you've never seen before."

They were watery, some where translucent, and the pile was completely isolated. Gerardine was amazed, and she wanted answers.

"We did email a friend of ours who's a zoologist, but she didn't know.  I mean, she didn't seem to recognize what it was."

So, she sent KGUN-9 pictures of the spheres, hoping we could find some answers.

Commercial pilot films UFO 1/23/2013 (video)

Footage captured by a pilot over Costa rico appears to show an unidentified flying object. The footage corresponds to a flight on Wednesday, January 23, 2013

In the video we see a rapidly moving object below the aircraft.

The video was captured by the commercial pilot Joseph Daniel Araya, who has more than 500 flight hours. Araya says he was recording with his cell phone when suddenly the camera screen saw the object moving, When he looked out of the aircraft there was nothing, said the pilot,

To find an answer to what happened we went to Jose Alberto Villalobos, astronomer and UFO researcher Alexis Astua.
