Time to visit Arizona's most haunted hotel, the Jerome Grand Hotel.

It's believed that nearly 9,000 people died in the Jerome Grand Hotel during its previous life as United Verde Hospital. That's a lot of sickness, pain and death.

There must be some residual spirit energy left over from all those souls, right? Right.

Ghostly figures, sounds, unexplained orbs of light and other paranormal activity permeate the halls of this ghost-hunting cult mecca high above the turn-of-the-century Yavapai County mining town making it one of the most haunted places in Arizona.

“We were skeptical and didn't believe it in the beginning,” says general manager Chris Altherr, whose father Bob and uncle Larry bought the boarded-up 30,000-square-foot building from the old Phelps Dodge Corporation in 1994 after laying fallow for more than 40 years. “We only had six rooms open at first and immediately began receiving reports from guests hearing voices and a (hospital gurney) in the hallways, but no one was there.”

Scores of visitor accounts

Whether or not you believe in ghosts — or more specifically ghosts at the Jerome Grand — scores of visitors have signed guest books in the lobby noting their experiences.

“We fill a 300-page journal each year,” Altherr says. “We have four or five of them right now.”
Activity happens throughout the hotel, but the third floor in particular. Most of the deaths occurred in the operating room there. The sound of a hospital gurney, wheels across the floor, spook the uninitiated.

“We've made changes with carpet and you can still hear it at 3 in the morning,” Altherr says.
Guests also report the ghost of a cat on the third floor. Like a feline jumping onto the bed and walking around.

Creepy footage shows doors banging in Haunted Morgue in Brazil (video)

This video apparently shows a poltergeist at work – and is quite possibly the most spine chilling video you’ve watched in ages.

The footage, which has been terrifying the Internet witless, was said to have been been shot in former morgue in Brazil.
The men walk down the creepy, badly lit corridor while a door bangs open and shut
Then as they approach, the door stops slamming open and shut
The clip is filmed from the point of view of what appears to be a security guard who is clutching both a torch and his camera phone.

He is shown following another man as they both walk down what looks like a badly lit corridor.

Meanwhile a sinister banging noise can be heard.

As they continue on slowly, the viewer cannot be sure what is happening – mainly because the light ahead is defective and flickering.

But as the men walk further forward it becomes apparent that a red door is slamming open and shut.

Man captures creepy sounds in an Arizona mine (video)

A man who ventured into an abandoned mine in the US has purportedly recorded spine-tingling whispers on his camera.

The man, who’s only known as Frank on his social media pages, is believed to have visited the Waldeck Mine in Arizona to document the area while reviewing a new flashlight.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Exploring Abandoned Mines, Frank explored the 150-year-old mine with nothing but his camera and a torch.

In the clip, which has since gone viral online, Frank claims to hear creepy whispers while exploring a particular tunnel in the mine.

“Do you hear that?” he asked in the video.

“Is that wind?”

“I don’t know what that is. It doesn’t sound like wind.”

5 Creepy Sounds Picked Up On Sleep Recording Apps (video)

Since every new technology seems to provide some kind of fresh form of high strangeness, it should be no surprise that 'sleep apps' have produced some truly unsettling sounds.

YouTube user Top5s has put together an astounding collection of five anomalous and apps recordings made via apps used to record sounds that people make in their sleep.

One such snippet of audio comes from a man who had been receiving complaints from his neighbors about loud voice coming from his apartment at night.

This puzzled him, since he lived by himself, so he used a recording app to see what they were hearing while he was ostensibly sound asleep.

In the chilling recording, a voice asks "what are ya?" and a bizarre, unintelligible voice rambles back in a guttural, raspy response.

Although it could just be the man talking it in his sleep, the 'conversation' is unnerving nonetheless.

Celebrity Big Brother housemates feel 'spooky presence' without knowing of the death of Angie's ex-husband David Bowie.

Celebrity Big Brother housemates have discussed feeling a 'spooky presence' - just hours after news of David Bowie's death rocked the world.

It's still unknown whether housemates are aware of David's passing, with bosses having told Angie off camera earlier today.

However it appears that housemates were still in the dark about the musician's death when talking about a ghost haunting the house this morning.

The show's official Twitter revealed that Gemma Collins was the first to feel the presence before Jonathan Cheban and Tiffany Pollard agreed.

"Gemma felt a spooky presence in the night. Jonathan says there's a ghost. Tiffany: 'Oh - there's a ghost. Or two!. #BBUKLive," the first tweet reported happening at 11.54am.

David died following an 18-month battle with cancer, a posting on his official Facebook page confirmed this morning.

CBB has confirmed that Angie will stay in the house having been told about his passing off camera.

A statement read: "Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives.

"The decision to remain in the House is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind. Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed."

Man reportedly photographs ghost at Texas Museum

Man Snaps Photo at Fort Worth Museum with Mystery Creature. Ghost? Demon? (2)Do you enjoy sleeping soundly? Do you close your eyes and not have visions of ghosts and demons hanging around playing children?

Let’s change that. This photo appeared on Reddit some time ago, but the mystery is still unsolved.

Kevin Brown was at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History with his niece, two nephews and an iPad. While they were playing in the kids-only grocery store exhibit, Brown snapped some photos.

When they got home, his niece was looking through the photos when she asked Brown what the hell is in the background of one (she probably didn’t use exactly those words).

“That is the first time in my life I’ve actually had the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It freaked me out. It freaked (my niece) out,” Brown says.

Is it less creepy when it's lightened? No. And look at those hands.

Is it less creepy when it's lightened? No. And look at those hands. The image in the background of the photo could be a number of things. Other Redditors have lightened the photo and examined it, with some deciding it's just a woman and others confirming it’s a child-eating demon.

Brown isn’t so sure.

“I’m positive I would have noticed something like that and it was strange. It wasn’t noticed until we looked at the pictures,” he says.

The Spooky Sleepy Hollow Road of Kentucky (video)

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The world may know Kentuckiana for its rolling green horse pastures and world renowned bourbon, but for those who know where to look can get their fill of ghost stories and haunted places. There are a few stories and urban legends attached to our last area.

“Most of the myths in the Kentuckiana area have one story," explains Rod Whitenack, senior editor for louisvillehalloween.com. "There might be variations of the story but this one has four completely different stories.”

Sleepy Hollow Road is located near the eastern edge of the boarder of Jefferson and Oldham counties in Kentucky. Whitenack laughs as he thinks about the name of the road.

“I think anytime you name a road after a Washington Irving story that's a classic ghost story there's gonna be stories that crop up about the place,” said Whitenack.

There are no stories of the headless horseman on this foreboding road but the tale is just as chilling. Whitenack gives a vivid description.

“It's a stretch of road that has trees on both sides," said Whitenack. "It's kind of uncomfortable. It makes it feel like they're encroaching on your car.”

It is winding two lane blacktop road with a tree line that becomes a menacing canopy in many places.

“If the full moon is out there's shadows cast across the road. It's a very uncomfortable place,” Whitenack goes on to explain.

Japanese girls collapse at haunted school, vengeful ghost blamed

The Japanese internet is exploding after a succession of high school girls in Fukuoka Prefecture disturbingly collapsed during school hours on Monday. Students who were at the scene took to their Twitter accounts to post updates as the bizarre spectacle unfolded.

While the most likely explanation for the mysterious series of events is that the girls were induced into a state of mass panic after the first girl collapsed, some are attributing it to a vengeful spirit. Feel free to draw your own conclusions from the details, but either way, this is one creepy happening.

Summer is traditionally the season for telling tales of horror and ghost stories in Japan, and it seems like this season is off to a spectacularly eerie start. Around 10am on June 30, a first-year student at Yanagawa High School, a private school in Fukuoka Prefecture, suddenly began screaming in the middle of class and became unable to move her body. Soon after, several of her female classmates began displaying the same strange behavior, and their numbers increased to either 26 or 27 (based on varying reports) as more students from surrounding rooms arrived to see what was happening. The afflicted students, who were all female and ranged from first-years through third-years, were taken home by their guardians. The school eventually shut down completely around 1pm, and remained closed on the following day for authorities to investigate the cause of events.
