CCTV footage posted on YouTube appears to show the 'ghost' of a young girl haunting a well-known mobile phone store

A spooky-looking female figure can be seen walking past a doorway at the back of the store, pausing to turn her head and look straight into the recording surveillance camera.
The opening credits state that today's shop was "built on the site of a Victorian orphanage" — suggesting that the 'spirit' is one of its dead orphans.
The credits add that this is an authentic ghost sighting: "This is genuine footage which has been examined by experts.
"They were unable to provide any answers."
Andrew Dasilva, who came across the video and posted it on YouTube, said: "I couldn't believe this when I saw it, it freaked me out.
"I said to my mate that we had to put it out there so people could make a judgement for themselves.
"I still don't know what to think of it. It's absolutely surreal."

Video: Spook or spoof?

But this viral spook could well be the work of pranksters using special effects. One YouTube user was unconvinced by the video and commented: "With all the special effects people put into their videos nowadays, I don't believe this s***".
Take a look at the video above and decide for yourself whether it's a real spook or a video spoof.

Scientists Close In On YETI

SCIENTISTS could be putting a Bigfoot in their mouths by claiming that the Abominable Snowman is alive and well.

Experts at an international Yeti conference in Russia this week insisted they are only months away from proving the beast really exists.

Igor Burtsev, head of The International Center Of Hominology, said at the meeting in Tashtagol: "We are on the brink of finding the Yeti at long last."

The Sun was there to listen to the deadly serious Burtsev claiming at least 30 hulking creatures roam the Kemerovo region where the conference was being held.

He said the Yeti — also known as Bigfoot and Sasquatch — is the missing link between Neanderthal man and modern human beings.

"We have good evidence of Yeti in our region," said Burtsev. "And now we have convincing details from experts elsewhere in Russia and in the US and Canada.

"The description of the habits of the Abominable Snowman are similar from all over the world."

Russian authorities are so keen to find Bigfoot, they have offered one million roubles (£20,000) for information leading to its discovery.

Adding to the bank of "evidence" presented at the conference was 70-year-old Canadian Yeti-hunter John Bindernagel, who reckons he has seen the creature for himself.

He said: "We now know a lot of anatomical details from people's accounts. The neck is very short and very thick, the eyes deeply set, the chin is rounded, the ears are usually covered with hair, the arms are long. The foot looks human-like but is broader. Some people say they can distinguish the males from the more slender females."

Bindernagel claims his sighting took place in Ohio in 2007, when a 6ft-tall creature ventured close to a resident's home. Footage of this beast is to be released soon.

He said: "The people in the house have seen it quite often. They made some films that will be screened later this year."

Yeti specialists from Russia, the US, Canada, Sweden and Estonia also gathered at the seminar to DNA-test a 7cm hair clump found last week in the region's Azasskaya cave during a four-day Yeti hunt.

But locals claim the sample is a hoax to encourage more tourists to the far-flung region.

Also revealed is a photo of a "footprint" but the markings are too vague to be conclusive.

Moscow architect Anatoly Fokin, 55, gave up his occupation nine years ago to hunt for the Yeti. Since then he has collected details of sightings in Russia's Kirov region. In one 2007 case, hunters killed a bear and left the scene to get a truck to take it away.

He said: "When they returned 40 minutes later, the bear had vanished. There were signs of dragging. They got their dogs to follow the scent but they came to a tree and stopped in their tracks, whimpering in fear.

"They all saw a giant hairy figure standing near the tree where the dead bear was lying, torn at the shoulder, blood flowing from a gaping wound where this creature had gouged a huge slice of raw meat."

Villagers also recounted how a "Leshiy" — or forest man in Russian — used brute strength to skin a dead elk it stole from hunters.

Liliya Zenkova, 47, a local government official, told how on a camping trip with her husband and friend in a remote area in Siberia she fell asleep on her car's back seat, with the windows open.

"At 5am I felt my right hand being caressed," she said. "I knew it couldn't be my husband — it was so gentle with such soft hair.

"I looked outside and saw this creature moving slowly away. Almost two metres tall, grey hair. His head looked like it was sunk into his shoulders. I knew he wasn't human, he had on no clothes.

"My husband told me not to tell anyone because they would think I was mad. But now stories have started to appear about the Yeti, I want to explain what happened."

It isn't all in Russia, either.

US expert Jeff Meldrum, associate professor of anatomy and anthropology at Idaho State University, claims to have seen more than 200 Yeti footprints and heard their calls — "high-pitched tones that travel some distance".

"The most recent footprints were about a year ago in Wyoming," he told the conference.

"There were home owners with unusual foot marks — very large, 16in long — all around their house. The Yetis must have come in from the forest."

Leading the conference, Dr Burtsev says his "primary goal" is to establish contact with the Yeti — but this may lead to problems.

He said: "We need to think about how to integrate the Yeti into society. Should they be treated as normal citizens? Should they be treated like animals? No, because they are more intelligent. There's a lot to think about here." Despite the claims, without the promised proof of a living, breathing Sasquatch, so far it's all just a lot of big talk.

Do Ghosts Haunt Mysterious House in Laguna Beach ?

It used to be a brothel, or so they say.

The old white building sits on the hill like the home in "The Shining," cavernous and creaky, with long dark hallways and strange apartments. It is the Arch Beach Tavern, built in 1915 to house people from the movie industry.

Just like in "The Shining."

Indeed, it is an odd place where mystery abounds, reports the Laguna Beach Coastline Pilot. There are blank doors with no handles and light switches with no switches. When you walk into the lobby, an empty rocking chair sits ominously in the corner looking at you, waiting to move with an unseen breeze.

Put it this way: On Halloween in Laguna Beach, Oak and Brooks streets get all the attention, but no one trick-or-treats at this house, perhaps because it's too scary.

"Nobody ever comes up to the building," said Briandy Walden, a 10-year resident. "The building itself can be kind of creepy. The carpet used to be red."

Walden tells stories about mysterious sightings on the third floor, the backyard garden and the unexplained sounds.

"People have said they've heard and seen things, but I haven't," she said, fidgeting and glancing over her shoulder.

Located at 2180 Catalina St., the building can make you jumpy.

In fact, according to postings on the Ghosts of America website, out of all the ghost sightings in Laguna, this building has the most stories.

"Two residents have reported seeing a little girl playing on the balcony at night behind the building on the third floor," wrote Ryan, who did not give his last name, on the website. "Another 12-year resident reported hearing digging going on in the laundry room, but the floor is cement, and the digging sounded like a shovel into gravel and dirt."

There have been several other mysterious reports, according to the site.

"I have lived at 2180 Catalina (bottom level) in Laguna Beach and have witnessed several different ghost sightings in the years that I've lived here," wrote Nikki. "Mostly seeing an older woman with white, short perm-style hair in my kitchen and standing over my bed.

"When I first moved in I woke up to what I thought was a nightmare but clearly was not; I saw a woman in old-style courtesan clothing. She had curly long dark hair and was wearing old-fashioned lingerie. She was scratching at me and telling me to 'get out.' I had actual marks on my arms, so this was very real! I remember she had long red-painted nails."

Red. It's always red.

Holy Crap, John Travolta is also a Civil War Vampire

From CinemaBlend: Remember the Old Timey Photograph that a man in Seattle. Washington was claiming as proof that Nicolas Cage is a vampire? Yeah, now John Travolta has one too. Gawker.com picked up on this Ebay listing, from a different seller than the Cage photo, who claims to have a a "ruby glass amotype photograph" taken in 1860 that clearly shows a youngish John Travolta. In fact, it seems to be Travolta around the time of Face/Off… a movie in which he starred opposite Cage. See the spooky evidence for yourself on left and below.

Now, there's some kind of saying that George W. Bush famously mangled that goes "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
It seems entirely possible that the seller of the Nic Cage photo genuinely believes he's found evidence of the undead, and y'know, who can blame him for trying to share that with the world. But what are the odds of then a second photo emerging, this one showing one of Cage's former co-stars who is also a centuries-old vampire? And in the age of Photoshop, when these things are astonishingly easy to reproduce? Thanks to participation in a play a few years ago, I actually have a couple of these fake old daguerreotypes-- I'll show you sometime the proof that, I too, am a vampire.

But hey, the only way to prove it's a hoax is for somebody to buy this photo and reveal the truth to the world. I'll throw in a buck if someone else can cover the remaining $49,999 of the asking price.

Family captures haunting face above the USS Arizona

HONOLULU, HI (KHON/CNN) -
An Australian family claims they captured an incredible image from above the USS Arizona of a face beneath the waters of Pearl Harbor.

Susan De Vanny and her family said the face appeared in the shimmering oil in the water above the wrecked ship where it remains as a memorial to the sailors who died during the Dec. 7, 1941 attacks on the Hawaiian harbor.

After taking the haunting photo, De Vanny showed the picture to her husband.

"I said just have a look at the photo, and he said, 'Oh my gosh, it's a face,' and then the kids saw it, and they go, 'Oh wow'," De Vanny said.

De Vanny described the ghostly figure in the water as looking very sad and young.

More than 1,100 sailors died aboard the USS Arizona during the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941.

Most of the bodies were never recovered.

The USS Arizona is the famous United States Navy battleship that was sunk in the infamous attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii which put the United States into World War II. The sunken hull of the ship now serves as a national monument. There are only a few bits of the ship that still remain above the waterline, including the deck. Below the waterline contains the hull where the remains of the dead sailors from the day of the attack on December 7th, 1941, still lay. The hull still leaks oil from the bunkers even after all these years.

Many people believe that the ship is haunted.

Some people believe that the ship was cursed before it first ever went off to sea. This was because when the ship was launched, it was christened by a bottle of water, rather than a bottle of whine. Any old sailor will tell you that not following the rules of the sea is not a wise decision, and more often that not, nothing good will come out of it. The story of the ghost goes that on the morning of December 7th, 1941, the officer of the deck wasn’t at his post due to personal reasons. In his absence, the Japanese began their attack, and the officer died in the blast. The guilt-stricken officer is believed to haunt the ship, walking the deck at low tide and looking out at the water near the flagpole. Also, many pictures that are taken of the ship reveal orbs, foggy spots, and shadowy mists.
