Nickelodeon star Arianna Grande says she sees demons

And Ariana Grande is supposed to be the "normal" teeny bopper star.

The "Sam & Cat" actress, who also sings the hit song "The Way," is on the cover of Complex Magazine, for which she gave an interview in which she talked about evil presences in her car, photographing "textbook demons" with her smart phone, and something whispering near her head as she tried to sleep.

Complex: Have you ever seen an alien?

Ariana: Not an alien, but I’ve had a ghost/demon experience. We were in Kansas City a few weeks ago and went to this haunted castle and were so excited. The next night we wanted to go to Stull Cemetery, which is known as one of the seven gates to hell on Earth. The Pope won’t fly over it—

Complex: I love that you know that. Sorry, go on.

Ariana: I felt this sick, overwhelming feeling of negativity over the whole car and we smelled sulfur, which is the sign of a demon, and there was a fly in the car randomly, which is another sign of a demon. I was like, “This is scary, let’s leave.” I rolled down the window before we left and said, “We apologize. We didn’t mean to disrupt your peace.” Then I took a picture and there are three super distinct faces in the picture—they’re faces of textbook demons.

Has Edinburgh's most haunted pub ghost finally been caught on film

IT is believed to be Edinburgh’s most haunted pub, with more spooky spectres than there are spirits behind the bar.

Now staff at the Grassmarket’s White Hart Inn have what they believe is a photo of a troublemaking ghost, captured by a family of Australian 
tourists.

It shows what staff claim is a ghostly female apparition near the venue’s main bar.

The spooky snap is believed to be a girl in a red dress who haunts the bar, a spectral hand visible at her side.

Such has been the 
excitement over the image, a ghost-chasing film crew has asked to spend a night locked inside the pub in a bid to capture unmistakable proof of the afterlife on camera.

Inn manager Michael Johnson, a self-proclaimed sceptic, said the couple’s daughter took the holiday snap about eight weeks ago on a night out.

Mr Johnson said he remembers the night well as he had been giving the pleasant couple “jip about the rugby”.

He said: “They were about the second last group to leave and they pulled on my shirt and said ‘look at this’.

“They’d looked through the photos and seen something a bit strange. She pulled it up on us and that’s when I knew it wasn’t a hoax. She couldn’t have done any computer graphics because she was still in the pub.”

Inside the brain of the walking dead

The rotting flesh, the shuffling walk, the unintelligible groans — it's not hard to spot a zombie at a glance even among the most gruesome of Halloween monsters. But what's going on inside their brain?

Based on fictional accounts of the undead creatures' bizarre behavior, several prominent scientists have taken a crack at the mystery. Neuroscientists Bradley Voytek, of the University of California, San Diego, and Tim Verstynen, of Carnegie Mellon University, are both avid zombie fans. Back when they were in graduate school together, they would sit around watching zombie movies and got to thinking about what causes zombies to behave as they do.

"We mocked up what a zombie brain would look like," Voytek said, and "it kind of took off." Voytek calls it a way of getting people to accidentally learn something about the brain.

Diagnosing a zombie

Broadly speaking, zombies can be either slow zombies (think the original "Dawn of the Dead") or fast zombies (à la the film's 2004 remake). Slow zombies shuffle in an uncoordinated manner and can't open doors, suggesting a problem with the cerebellum, Voytek said. This region at the back of the head, known as the "little brain," plays an important role in coordinated movements. Tasks such as picking up a quarter on the ground are actually really hard, Voytek said.  "We still can't get robots to do this."

All zombies — fast ones included — seem to have poor memory and lack the ability to plan as a group.
"They don't really have any social skills," Voytek said.

They also lack cognitive control — there's no delaying the gratification of warm human flesh. These symptoms suggest their frontal lobes probably aren't functioning correctly, Voytek said. In animal studies, cutting connections to the frontal lobes causes lots of problems, he added.

Does the ghost of the Lady in Pink roam this Ohio courthouse (video)

Unexplained sights and sounds chill the bones for those who believe that spirits roam the halls of some of Ohio's old county courthouses.

Murder in the courtroom is said to be the reason the "Lady in Pink" walks the hallways of the Wayne County Courthouse in Wooster.

Common Pleas Court Administrator James Fox has always been skeptical - until he saw "something" on the security camera. "I look at the monitor and sure enough just right down the hall from where I was standing there was a figure in a reddish, pinkish hue just right down the hall. I looked down the hall and nobody's there, and I look back at the screen and there is definitely a figure," Fox said.

There are stories of the freight elevator that operates by key only, opening unexpectedly, and cleaning carts moving by themselves. "We've had cleaning people who've actually retired, resigned as a result. Part of that is probably just being in incredibly, creepy hundred-plus year old building at one in the morning," according to Fox.

Some of the stories may have originated when the interior of the building was being renovated in 1999 and construction crews working third shift reported seeing strange things, including ghosts.

A new renovation project will start soon on the outside of the building, but Common Pleas Court Judge Mark Wiest is not too concerned about stirring up any more ghosts.

Ghost caught on camera at Daytona Beach hotel (video)

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —The historic Plaza Resort and Spa on A1A and Seabreeze Boulevard in Daytona Beach has seen a lot of comings and goings, including spring-breakers in the 1990s, but  current guests have some employees spooked.

They believe the hotel is haunted.

The hotel is well over a century old, and the employees think former guests have either returned or never left.

Hotel security chief Chris Lenkiewicz and his staff were watching security monitors several weeks back when they saw something odd moving through a downstairs bar.

"It wasn't dust. It wasn't a flashlight. There was nobody on property causing stuff to happen to mess with other employees," he said.

An apparition moved about, changing sizes. And when a guard went down to check, others say, the ghostly presence seemed to hide.

Though he couldn't see it, the guard felt something, and later on security video, the apparition almost took on the shape of a person and ran away.

Employees said there have been strange sightings and sounds from all corners of the hotel, hallways, bathrooms and even hotel rooms, like Room 1111, where a guest fell to his death from a balcony several years back.
