York, PA - Two glazed, beady eyes of a blonde-haired baby doll pierced the darkness, staring at Jan Klinedinst and Tom Shirey, as if to cry out, "Hey, I'm watching you."

But silence -- or so it seemed -- filled the second floor of the John Wright Restaurant, a former warehouse built in 1916, as Shirey reached for his tripod and audio recorder.

"I wish I had a third hand to pick everything up," he said, tucking the pink-clad toy, jittery eyelids and all, under his arm.

An audio replay of that moment reveals a young girl's high-pitched voice seemingly squealing, "Let me see!" amplified using Audacity audio software by Tom Arnold, the team's tech guru.

To some, it's all coincidence -- street noise or an intercepted cellphone transmission.

To this crew, it means one thing:

Ghosts are in their midst.

Divers claim 'Baltic UFO' shuts down all electronics

The divers exploring a 'UFO-shaped' object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea say their equipment stops working when they approach within 200m.

Professional diver Stefan Hogerborn, part of the Ocean X team which is exploring the anomaly, said some of the team's cameras and the team's satellite phone would refuse to work when directly above the object, and would only work once they had sailed away.

He is quoted as saying: 'Anything electric out there - and the satellite phone as well - stopped working when we were above the object.

'And then we got away about 200 meters and it turned on again, and when we got back over the object it didn’t work.'

Diver Peter Lindberg said: 'We have experienced things that I really couldn’t imagine and I have been the team's biggest skeptic regarding these different kind of theories.

'I was kind of prepared just to find a stone or cliff or outcrop or pile of mud but it was nothing like that, so for me it has been a missing experience I must say.'

Member Dennis Åsberg said: 'I am one hundred percent convinced and confident that we have found something that is very, very, very unique.

SHERMAN, TX - The owner of a store at Midway Mall in Sherman says something strange happened inside her store this weekend that has her and her staff looking for answers. The owner says some of her employees think they have a ghost in the store. 

Early Sunday morning Rhonda Kohles says she got a strange call from 2 of her employees at her store Jaks at Midway Mall. 

"To hear the scaredness in their voice, they were really freaked out about it." RK

"Oh yeah, all day Sunday we just tried to make explanations for it, all day, but yeah it creeped us out." said employee, Ashley Hamons.

Hamons says when she opened the store, she came in to find several blankets off the shelf and on the floor.

Would Finding Aliens Shatter Religious Beliefs?

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The discovery of life beyond Earth would shake up our view of humanity's place in the universe, but it probably wouldn't seriously threaten organized religion, experts say.

Religious faith remains strong in much of the world despite scientific advances showing that Earth is not the center of the universe, and that our planet's organisms were not created in their present form but rather evolved over billions of years. So it's likely that religion would also weather any storms caused by the detection of E.T., researchers say.

"I think there are reasons that we might initially think there are going to be some problems," said Doug Vakoch, director of Interstellar Message Composition at the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute in Mountain View, Calif. "My own hunch is they're probably not going to be as severe as we might initially think."

Loch Ness Monster used to debunk evolution in school

It sounds like a hoax, but it's apparently true: The Loch Ness Monster is on the science class syllabus for kids at Eternity Christian Academy in Westlake, Louisiana.

As reported by the Herald Scotland (which must track all Loch Ness-related news), a school that will receive tax-payer dollars, will teach kids that the mythological sea creature is real in order to debunk the theory of evolution. So pay attention: That will be on the test.

Eternity Christian Academy uses the  fundamentalist A.C.E. Curriculum to teach students "to see life from God's point of view."

According to the Herald, one textbook, Biology 1099, reads, "Are dinosaurs alive today? Scientists are becoming more convinced of their existence. Have you heard of the 'Loch Ness Monster' in Scotland? 

'Nessie' for short has been recorded on sonar from a small submarine, described by eyewitnesses, and photographed by others. Nessie appears to be a plesiosaur."

When eerie Ghost Trains rattled through village

FAYE Stenson, from Ruddington, certainly makes no bones about having a skeleton in her cupboard – in fact she's fascinated by ghosts.

"My interest in the subject stems from my maternal grandfather, Clarence Daniel, who published several books such as Ghosts of Derbyshire and was a well-known historian in and around Derbyshire until he passed away in 1987," she readily volunteers.

You see, Faye is busily searching for people with stories about having seen ghosts in Ruddington, for a mini-series in the local newsletter.

"Initial research has already revealed details of a ghostly presence at several locations in the village, including the Hermitage, library, the former Horspool's bakery and the White Horse Inn."

Florida Teacher tells kids to self-mutilate to "Expel Demons" (video)

A St. Petersburg, Florida teacher has been arrested in a case involving former students and a ritual involving cutting their bodies to release "evil spirits," according to police.

Danielle Harkins, 35, allegedly told teenagers they had evil spirits in their bodies, and she wanted to get them out.

Harkins was able persuade two former students to follow through with a ritual ceremony.

Harkins was charged with aggravated battery and child abuse and was being held at the Pinellas County Jail on $55,000 bail.

Harkins met and tutored the students while serving as a literacy mentor at the Lealman and Asian Learning Center in St. Petersburg.

Investigators said Harkins was at The Pier on Saturday with seven former students when she told a 16- and 17-year-old to take part in a ritual based on her religious beliefs.

Couple photograph "Ghost Baby" in livingroom

A couple claim their house is haunted after capturing what they believe to be an apparition of a baby ghost on camera.

Shocked John Gore, 43, was taking photographs of his pet cats when he noticed the bizarre outline of a small ghostly figure.

The shape - which looks like a toddler or baby - appears to be stand next to an armchair in the living room of the house Mr Gore shares with his girlfriend Sonia Jones in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The couple have now given the ghost the nickname 'Johnny Junior'.

Neighbours have since told the couple that a baby died from cot death in their home a number of years ago.

This house is "NOT HAUNTED" says agent Jake Palmer

When people are trying to sell a house, they usually try to make it sound as appealing as possible. For example, an old, out-of-date house may be described as a place with character.

One real estate agent in New Brunswick is trying to make a house he is selling sound as appealing as possible too, but doing it with a rather humorous twist.

Right underneath the "For Sale" sign, Jake Palmer has put signs (called "riders" in the business) that say "Not Haunted," "Love Shack, Baby" and "Indoor Plumbing." Riders usually feature words such as "Ravine Lot," "Virtual Tour" or "Reduced Price."

The house in Saint John, New Brunswick, is a three bedroom, one and a half bathroom detached with a large private backyard, a single car garage and updated electrical, windows and siding. It's listed for $198,400.

Treasure hunters confirm they have found something abnormal in the seabed

The Ocean X Team dove down to the circle-shaped object in the Baltic Sea and met something they never experienced before.

First they thought it was just stone or a rock cliff, but after further observations the object appeared more as a huge mushroom, rising 3-4 meters/10-13 feet from the seabed, with rounded sides and rugged edges.

Friendly Ghost caught in jar up for auction.

After causing havoc at Rotorua's Plunket clinic, "George the Friendly Community Ghost" has been caught, kept in a jar, and is for sale on Trade Me.

Apparently George had become a nuisance, playing with lights and stealing biscuits, so he's waiting to be shipped to the highest bidder.

Committee member Caraline Abbott (pictured) had the novel idea during a late-night meeting at the Pukuatua St clinic.

"It's one of those creaky old buildings and I thought 'I wonder if there's a ghost here'," she said.

"It is scary, the thoughts go through your head, even though the chocolate biscuits haven't really gone missing."

Farmer blames Alien Death Ray in cow deaths. (video)

A Canadian farmer has lost at least 250 cows in the past 10 years. While the government has charged him and says he failed to feed them, the farmer claims the alien defense.

Werner Bock has posted plenty of YouTube videos in recent years detailing his cattle's malnourished appearance, sunken features and hair loss. He declares that his cows were the victims of "death rays," some form of alien weapon that's been covered up by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

"At least 250 head of cattle have died from what we call a death beam," Bock said on camera in May of last year. "Where the atmospheric air is manipulated into a death beam, focused on the noses of the animals."

The animals breath in the death beam and slowly die, the eastern New Brunswick farmer claims.

Scientists ’95% Sure’ Bigfoot Lives in Russia

The vast Siberian tundra holds untold mysteries, from once-secret nuclear installations to alleged UFO crash sites.

Now, a team of scientists say they are "95%" sure that Russia's wintry expanse is home to the mythical yeti, otherwise known as the abominable snowman.

More than a dozen scientists and yeti enthusiasts flew in from Canada, Estonia, Sweden and the US to exchange findings with their Russian counterparts at a day-long conference in the town of Tashtagol, some 2,000 miles east of Moscow in the Kemerovo region. Locals there have reported an increase in sightings of a creature in recent years.

A two-day expedition to the region's Azassky cave and Karatag peak over the weekend "collected irrefutable evidence" of the yeti's existence there, the Kemerovo government claimed in a statement. "In one of the detected tracks, Russian scientist Anatoly Fokin noted several hairs that might belong to the yeti," it added. Scientists also found footprints, a presumed bed and various other markers.

Miami Heat ain't afraid of no ghosts

Udonis Haslem makes it clear that he ain't afraid of no ghosts. But that doesn't mean the Miami Heat forward isn't willing to give a resident poltergeist his distance.

Well, it depends on what you choose to believe.

According to local legend, the hotel's original owner, W.B. Skirvin, had an affair with a maid that resulted in a pregnancy. Supposedly, to protect his reputation she was locked in a room on the 10th floor. According to the tale, not recorded at the time in any manner, she grew despondent and eventually jumped out a window with the baby in her arms.

Cape Cod Creature "Real or Hoax" ?

An informant has written and forwarded the following photographs, in hopes of identifying what he reportedly saw this week on Cape Cod.

This was allegedly viewed on a beach on Cape Cod on Thursday morning, May 31, 2012.

It appeared to the witness to be “a very strange, large, eel like, prehistoric looking thing…the crows were eating it…it is about 6 ft long.”

It was left there, and, unfortunately, the photographer didn’t think about taking any samples for DNA.

New Jersey's "Bermuda Triangle" Fishing Hole with Dark Past

CLINTON — A fisherman’s paradise, Round Valley Reservoir in Hunterdon County stretches across 2,000 noise-free acres and is stocked with plenty of trout. On a good day, you can gaze down about 20 feet into its blue waters.

But there’s also a dark side to the popular Clinton Township fishing hole, one of New Jersey's deepest man-made lakes. Somewhere in its depths lie six presumably drowned men who’ve been missing for years, and surrounding it are tales about its death toll, which numbers roughly a couple dozen within the past 40 years.

Some locals call the reservoir "the Bermuda Triangle of New Jersey," a nickname that’s being uttered once again after a fishing hook snared a skeletal human foot earlier this month.

Rosewood Hotel is a Ghost magnet

DAVID Pahlke's Rosewood Hotel is a magnet for ghosts.

When the QT visited the 98-year-old pub recently we were informed of three apparitions that appear from time to time - an elderly woman, a Negro soldier and a water ghost called Rusty.

Councillor Pahlke also has a wealth of knowledge about ghosts in the region and would like to see an official tourist brochure established that showcases the haunted sights of the area.

He is promoting a tourist route with signs and an established route, a la the Cobb and Co Tourist Drive.

We had a look in room three, where spirits are said to linger. There was no sign of the ghosts on this occasion. QT photographer Dave Nielsen is a vocal sceptic and probably scared the spirits away with his doubts and his beard. But an ex-army veteran, also bearded, was in the room at the time and ushered us in.

Deadly "Ghost Train" game kills two teens

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Two Missouri girls struck and killed by an Amtrak train were playing a deadly game, a coroner said Tuesday.

Butler County Coroner Jim Akers said the teens were playing a game called "Ghost Train," in which a car is parked on the tracks, purportedly awaiting the arrival of a "ghost train" involved in a fatal derailment many years ago. Occupants let the windows fog up in the scary setting. If a train approaches, they drive off.

But Akers said that as the Amtrak train neared the 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the vehicle wouldn't start. Three teens got out but two panicked and couldn't unbuckle their seat belts. One returned and unbuckled the other girls and was still inside the Jeep when the train slammed into it.

"It's crazy," said Akers, who had never heard of the game before the accident. "It's horrible. I really don't have words yet. I wish I had some smart, poetic way of saying something to stop kids from doing things like this."

The accident happened at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at a railroad crossing near Poplar Bluff in southeast Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the girls who died as Victoria Swanson, 15, and Haley Whitmer, 17, both of Poplar Bluff.

"Vampire" Skeletons found in Bulgaria

SOFIA, Bulgaria –  Bulgarian archaeologists say they have unearthed centuries-old skeletons pinned down through their chests with iron rods -- a practice believed to stop the dead from becoming vampires.

According to Bozhidar Dimitrov, head of the National History Museum in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, two skeletons from the Middle Ages were found in such a state last weekend near the Black Sea town of Sozopol.

'These two skeletons stabbed with rods illustrate a practice common up until the first decade of the 20th century.' said  Dimitrov.

11 yr old "Fire-Starter" girl mystifies scientists

HA NOI — The case of an 11-year-old girl in HCM City's Tan Binh District claimed to have supernatural fire-starting powers is continuing to baffle scientists.

The girl, whose family claims she has an unusual mental power that can cause objects to burst into flames, has drawn a great deal of attention from the Vietnamese media. 

The girl's father said he first became aware of that his child was unusual when the family home's electrical network suffered several short circuits, about a month ago. Electricians were called to fix the short circuit but could not find the cause behind the power failures.

He said the girl was taken to other houses where the same phenomenon took place each time. Her mattresses, fans and other equipment have burst into flames. The hotel room where her family stayed two weeks ago during their holiday on Vung Tau beach also suffered burns from a blaze.

The 21-year-old college student allegedly told detectives that he hadn't just killed the man who'd lived with his family for months, but had eaten his heart and portions of his brain. The victim's severed head and hands were found in the men's Harford County home; more remains were left in a trash container outside a church.

Authorities outlined the macabre circumstances Thursday in charges against Alexander Kinyua, an electrical engineering major at Morgan State University and member of his school's ROTC program, of first-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, a Ghanaian national and a former master's degree student.

Kinyua's father reported that Agyei-Kodie went missing last Friday after going for a jog, but the investigation eventually led back to the family home. Kinyua was being held Thursday without bond, and authorities were exploring whether others participated in the crime or knew about it, based on what they called inconsistencies in statements made by the suspect's family.

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - People are buzzing over what could have possibly caused a loud boom and violent shaking last night and this morning throughout West Michigan.

The reports came in from people in Calhoun, Branch and Kalamazoo Counties.

People from all over say they felt and heard it, but Newschannel Three has only heard of one case of actual damage happening during the same time.

John Nieuwenhuis, who lives in Oshtemo, says that he felt and heard the explosion, which shook his entire house.

"Where the two trees are parallel and something completely scrapped both trees off at the same height and laid them to the west," said Nieuwenhuis.

Nieuwenhuis called the fire department but after extensively searching, they couldn't find the source of an explosion.

Idaho students on field trip film Bigfoot (video)

What appears to be a large dark figure disappearing into the brush and trees on a hillside near the West Fork of Mink Creek was captured on a brief video clip made by Pocatello students recently.

The clip has spawned Bigfoot speculation and provides more data for an Idaho State University professor who has become a Bigfoot expert.


The students who chose to remain unidentified told Local News 8 they were on a field trip for a school project when they spotted a dark figure watching them from a ridge above them. One student took the digital video clip with his camera.

“It just didn’t look human like. I don’t know what that is, it’s not a bear, it’s not a moose or anything. It was big and bulky and black,” the student told Channel 8.

The students also told the television station that they climbed up the ridge and took photographs of large footprints they discovered.

ISU professor and Sasquatch expert, Jeff Meldrum, has examined the photos and the short video captured by the students. Retired ISU professor and anatomist Trent Stephens was in Meldrum’s office when the film was being examined Wednesday.
